Mike Phillips

In regards to Professor Gibson's post I would just say that I think it's great that bloggers are being able to question the likes of Dan Rather and CBS news in such powerful ways. One of the interesting debates going on in this country with the advent of huge comanies owning cable news channels like CNN and Fox News, is that the news is becoming so much more entertainment and bias, and from such a limited group, than it used to. With bloggers throwing in their opinion and people paying attention, there is a good chance that journalists will be held accountable and that news will not be consolidated into a few conglomerates. The hard thing will be for viewers of blogs to separate fact from fiction, as the smaller the organization, the less credibility and responsibility to report factually and fairly.
