Link: Go Blue: Typepad vs. Blogger.
Bud has told me that they have made a lot of updates on blogger.com since we started using typepad.com, and if blogger were what it is now when this class began, he might have chosen it for our class as well.
Generally speaking, what I like about blogger is the simplicity. You fire it up, and it is ready to go. Switching templates is infinitely easier than in Typepad. As claimed in the analysts' report, you really are publishing in five minutes.
What typepad has going for it is its feature set. You can upload files directly, put in categories, and make trackbacks. Note though that we had to make a class project out of fully figuring out trackbacks. BTW, you can publish a draft in typepad or, worst case, post and then edit later.
I think typepad would do well to create a super simple version a la blogger and then make an easyy path to using the full feature set. I think the pre-cooked templates thing is critical.
